This is a collection of photos ranging from 5 to 15. There's some overlap with each portraiture gallery as many families have mixed ages.
Photographing young ones is fun because they could care less about the camera. But at the same time it's a challenge because they are often like songbirds flittering from branch to branch and can be interesting to keep up with.
As kids get older they are in ways easier to photograph because they can be posed and placed in a desired setting with carefully selected light. There's ample time to compose, focus, and expose properly.
However, older kids are often not interested in having their pictures taken. I find that I can build a rapport with about every kid and get them not only to loosen up, but actually enjoy the experience.
